According to Wikipedia, a haiku\u00a0\u00a0is a short poem which uses\u00a0imagistic language<\/a>\u00a0to convey the essence of an experience of nature or the season intuitively linked to the human condition.<\/p>\n

I have read haikus and as per the definition, they most often relate to nature. However, I think that our constant interaction with information technology sometimes brings out moments of searing clarity and other times a pensive mood, which can best be captured in the haiku format. Therefore I have tried my hand at creating some:<\/p>\n

Application crash
\nseven hours of Blendering
\nfrozen on the screen<\/p>\n

Where is the printout?
\nsent it to network printer
\non different campus<\/p>\n

***<\/p>\n

After early rush
\nprogress bar moves oh so slow
\ninstallation fail<\/p>\n

***<\/p>\n

Cable in your hand
\nwhere is the socket you need?
\nNo HDMI.<\/p>\n

***<\/p>\n

Setting up the desk
\ndisplay, keyboard, printer too
\ntwo outlets in wall.<\/p>\n

***<\/p>\n

As you do your work
\nWindows Update jumps the queue
\nrestarts on its own<\/p>\n

***<\/p>\n

Twitter is installed
\nnow I finally am in
\nand see what irks you<\/p>\n

TCP\/IP
\nCAPTCHA
\nno humans needed<\/p>\n

Calling the Helpdesk
\nwhat do you mean, quota out?
\nSorry, no can do.<\/p>\n

Smartphone in your hand
\nconnected to universe?
\nBattery is dead.<\/p>\n

Joining a website
\nfinally the form is filled
\nsession has timed out<\/p>\n

Software update done
\nall the icons are replaced
\nWhere is Cut and Paste?<\/p>\n

New remote control
\nWhat are all these buttons for?
\nTV remains dead<\/p>\n

***<\/p>\n

Finally got home
\ntime for social media –
\nkittens flood the screen<\/p>\n

Type an SMS
\nIndex finger hits wrong key
\nAutocorrect fails<\/p>\n

***<\/p>\n

U-sa-bi-li-ty
\nOf paramount importance
\nOften forgotten<\/p>\n
